We ask contributions on the language of emotions in the sciences, whether human or natural, physical or medical: what is the role of emotions in scientific practices, such as observation and experiment, and which role do emotions play in the scientist's ethos? What is the specific lexicon of emotions used in the theoretical statements on the object and purpose of the sciences? How is it believed that emotions can contribute or hinder the progress of scientific knowledge? What is the role of the history of emotions within the history of science?
