Sotera Fornaro is Professor of Greek Literature and Comparative Literatures at the University of Sassari. She has studied and taught in Basel, Heidelberg, Freiburg a.B., Berlin, Lüneburg. DAAD and Alexander von Humboldt Fellow, she currently directs the research groups 'Visioni del tragico. La tragedia greca sulla scena italiana dal 2001 ad oggi (www.visionideltragico.it) and "La vergogna e le sue maschere. Rappresentazione di
un’emozione sociale nella letteratura e nelle arti" (www.studisullavergogna.it). She has published essays, among the others, on Homer, Greek Literature of Imperial Age, History of Classic Studies, reception of the classical myth in modern and contemporary literatures.
