Abstract
The first edition of 'Simon Boccanegra' was performed in 1857 and had a deep makeover in 1881. As known, the libretto comes back to Gutiérrez drama, but in Koeln Verdi Could see the performance of Schiller's 'Fiesko'. Why not suppose that he got from 'Fiesko' some influence concerning the rise and fall of power? Does his music focus on some remains of classical culture? Both the hypothesis are suggested.
